Destin & 30A Condo Market Update
February 2020 -- Condos continue to be in high demand along the Destin & 30-A coastline and parts inland. The graphs below provide a side-by-side comparison of the condo market each year as characterized by the number of sales, average price, and inventory trend.
Destin & 30A Condo Price Trend
As shown in the graph below, the average price of Destin & vicinity condos has fallen 4% compared to the same time last year. The unusual upswing of condo average price in 2018 was atypical and not likely sustainable over multiple years. It is noteworthy that the current average sale price is substantially above 2017 numbers.
Destin & 30A Condos Sales Trend
The number of condo sales this year is down 14% compared to the same time period in 2018. As shown in the graph below, a year to year shift in the number of condo sales is not unusual. It is worth noting though.
Destin & 30A Condo Inventory Trend
Our critically low condo inventory in the Destin and 30-A market may be getting a boost if the past few months is an indication. Inventory usually decreases during summer months and increases in the fall. As the inventory graph shows, there has been a break in the pattern. The rise in inventory begain earlier this year than normal.
